​Veterinary Technician Wanted:  West Central Ohio Veterinary Emergency Services, LLC is looking for a full-time and/or part-time, highly motivated, personable, reliable team player with enthusiasm for veterinary healthcare.

We are a high-quality, 3 doctor small animal after-hours, emergency care hospital, located in Lima, Ohio.  The successful candidate must enjoy working with animals and ESPECIALLY their owner.

Applicants should be licensed or able to sit for the VTNE in the next 12 months, be friendly, outgoing, have a polished, professional appearance, and be detail oriented. In addition to assisting the doctor in a technical capacity, candidates must be willing and able to professionally greet clients in person and on the telephone, promote the positive image of the hospital, act as the clients’ liaison to the doctors, check patients in and out, and collect fees, as well as light cleaning. Knowledge of Intravet software is a bonus! 

Further Responsibilities include: 
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures.
  • Maintain relevant, comprehensible medical records
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
  • Safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members

Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekend hours, and holidays on rotation as we are an emergency clinic.  Our hours of operation are 6pm to 8am Monday through Thursday, 6pm Friday till 8am Monday, and 24 hours for all major holidays.  You must be able to interact with clients/the public.  Benefits include:  Comprehensive salary ($13-$19/ hour depending on licensure and experience) ​with paid time off, monthly practice-paid supplement for health care, a yearly scrub allowance, and practice-paid Continuing Education.

Associate Veterinarian Wanted:  West Central Ohio Veterinary Emergency Services, LLC (WCOVES) is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a team of passionate, focused doctors in the Lima, Ohio area.  Our clinic is a well-established, after-hours emergency hospital in Lima, Ohio. The experienced team prides itself on delivering prompt, compassionate emergency vet care. The hospital is staffed with an experienced, caring team that provides comprehensive medical and surgical services in emergency situations. The facility houses an on-site laboratory, digital radiography equipment, ultrasound, and endoscopy.  Recent graduates and experienced candidates encouraged to apply.

WCOVES was founded in 2009 by 12 area Veterinarians who recognized the need for improved veterinary emergency care and critical patient treatment and monitoring.  We opened our emergency clinic in May of that same year on the south side of Lima. In January of 2011, we moved to our current location at 3077 Harding Hwy, (State route 309), just east of the Allen County Fairgrounds.

Today, over 35 area veterinary clinics and thousands of dog and cat owners trust us to provide the best after-hours care for their patients and pets. We are strictly an ill or injured dog and cat hospital and do not provide any vaccination or spay / neuter services.
